Shopping in Shanghai, I have two questions?

Shopping in Shanghai, I have two questions?

Where is the good places to shop? It seems like every where is more expensive then the states. I understand that Huaihai and Nanjing rd are expensive so I skip thoses and when to shanxi rd and it was still expensive. So where is a good cheap place in shanghai to go do a little shopping for clothes and jewelry? Also where is a good inexpensive place to have custom tailored suits made?

Thanks

Brad

Don' know about Shanghai, but just keep in mind, when you shop in China, you need to bargain the price.
Reply:There are a thousand little markets in Shanghai but the bigger ones are Hongqiao market (in Gubei Hongmei lu and Yan'an lu) and the market under the science and technology museum in Pudong (it's in the subway stop). Those are good for like fake goods, and jewelry at hongqiao. Then Qi Pu lu has 4 HUGE building to shop for clothes and stuff, it's a little more chinese, it used to be called the chinese xiangyang (before they closed it 2 years ago), it's on qi pu lu north of the suzhou river. Don't forget to bargain.
Reply:well ,i am local shangese, i knwo the right place to go shopping if you really want to go shopping inexpensive ,you can go to or qipu rd ,if you don't know how to go there ,i'will help you
Reply:Go to Beijing. Shopping for clothing, you go to the Silk Street Market, Ya Show and Hong Qiao markets.
