All shops and shopping centre during CNY?

Hi,

I would like to know if all the shops and shopping will close during CNY ? Cos i am planning to go holiday in KL.

All shops and shopping centre during CNY?
Lowyat Plaza is the only shop in KL that will close during CNY.
Reply:most shopping centres in the Klang Valley (Kuala Lumpur %26amp; Petaling Jaya) are open throughout the Chinese New Year holidays but if the shops are operated by the Chinese themselves, then it will be closed ranging from the first day of Chinese New Year until almost one week or more.

if you are heading towards these places, be extra careful during the Chinese New Year period coz there will be a lot of foreigners who likes to visit these places where most local Malaysian are heading out of town or should i say balik kampung. in the past, their presences are not really welcomed coz they tend to create nuisances %26amp; disturbance %26amp; maybe lead to violent scenes.
Reply:During the CNY, mostly will close but not all..
Reply:some shops in malls will close.... not all just a few..
Reply:Nope, especially not in KL, since the majority of people there are Malays who don't celebrate CNY. But there will of course be less shops than usual.
Reply:some but mostly NOO bcos got DISCOUNT DISCOUNT and MORE DISCOUNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!YAY!!!!!!!
Reply:Yes, almost all businesses run by Chinese will be closed on the 1st day and 2nd day. However you still can go to some big shopping malls like KLCC, Times Square, Menara KL which will stay open.

Bear in mind, KL will be almost deserted during this period. The Chinese will be at their hometowns while the Malays will also go back to their kampungs. KL during this time will be swarmed by foreign workers especially the KLCC area.
