Shopping allowance?

Hi! im an 11 year old girl and i just started shopping in the "juniors" department yesterday. when i was trying clothing my mom suggested a shopping allowance because she doesnt like shopping. i could just go in the store. pick out what ever i wanted and buy it. how much do u think i should get. i would say about 10 or 8 dollars. what do u think?

P.S. please dont flag this. my cousin is letting me use her account and she is over the age of 13.

Shopping allowance?
don't listen to those saying 10 dollars is not enough, if the child is buying a clothing item every single week, then 10 dollars would be more than enough, I'm sure you already have some clothes now right? and you would just be adding to them? if you go to walmart or target, or even old navy or kohls, or the sales at the mall, you could definitly find something for 10 dollars, so far I've had to buy my daughter a whole new wardrobe every season as she grows like a weed, and our budge is usually about 150 dollars, by others calculations on here that means she would only get like 5 items, but yet by the time I'm done she has about 6 outfits, given she is 6, but you can find some really cute shirts, and skirts, belts, and other accessories at walmart for 10 dollars, and like you said...you could save the money up and have it roll over, walmart has levis now for 20 dollars, and then theres the metro7 line which is really great for juniors, really nice stuff at great prices. you could also check out burlington coat factory. and here at our mall we have a store called "the Rave" totally great clothes for juniors at really great prices, when I was a teenager (10 years ago) thats where we used to shop and here in GA the kids still shop there, I was able to get really great outfits for like 20 dollars, so yeah, at 10 dollars you could do it. and then maybe for special occasions maybe work out something where you get a bonus, like all a's on your report card, or birthdays, christmas, etc. or if she would go for it, she if she wouldn't go up to 15, if that would make it a bit easier, but 25 or more? a week? for allowance? thats crazy.
Reply:Do you mean American dollars. What in the world could you buy for $10, $8? I want to go shopping with you.
Reply:I think it depends on how often you are going to get the money from your parents. Do you think you will get money each time you want to go shopping, or are you thinking 8-10 dollars each week and then you save your money and buy things when you have enough to get what you want? If you want money each time you shop you will need more than $10, but if you are going to prove that you are responsible and save your money then $10 per week is more than enough for clothes (thats over $500 per year). It really depends on what your family can afford. Talk it over with your mom and see what she thinks is a fair amount.
Reply:Dear $10 is not enough. You can't get anything for that. I would say at least $25. That might get you a couple of things at Walmart.

I am an adult.. Old enough to be your grandmother.

Good Luck
Reply:Id say $10 is plenty but please please dont turn out to be a trashy teenager that wears tight revealing clothes respect yourself hun x
Reply:I would suggest $9, something in between!
Reply:use as much money as you can get!!!!!
Reply:Honey, you can't buy clothes for $10 these days. I doubt you could even buy clothes for $10 at Walmart. What exactly were you looking to buy? Were you buying, say, a pair of jeans and a shirt? For that, I would say about $40. I think your mom has a great idea. By giving you a specific amount of money, you will learn to be financially responsible. While girls much older than you are begging for ridiculously overpriced items, you'll be a smart shopper.
