im 13...and 4 my b-day my dad wants to take me shopping...um...yea idk if i want to w/ him though....no offence to him or anything, but daughters dont shop w/ their dads, they watch tv %26amp; play catch,lol. plus, i dont want him to know what i REALLY am into fashion wise, cuz im kind of punk %26amp; he doesnt really know. my parents r divorced s i dont c him much, but when i do i dont wear my punk, sk8er stuff. i dress all girly. idk y. should i really go shopping w/ him? or should i c if we should go do something else,,,,???
Shopping advise??
Go shopping with him, he's trying to do something nice for you and spend some time with you at the same time. Trust me, I've been where you are. I'm 21 and I didn't like to hang out or do stuff with my dad very much either, but now that I'm a little older, I realize how nice it is to have a dad who actually want to spend time with me and do nice things. Just go with him, I'm sure you dad loves you enough to accept the fact that you wanna wear the kinds of clothes that you do.....if not, buy other things, like shoes, cd's, accessories....have fun!!
Reply:well it seems like you are hiding the real you from your dad. i mean it's your b-day and you prolly wanna get some clothes that you like right? so the next time you see him, dress the way you normally do and see the way he reacts. i would tell him about the real you and go shopping with him

Reply:u should totally go! it doesnt matter that u dress punk or whatever. ur dad wont mind. its ur DAD. i dont kno ur parents but i'm sure he wouldnt care. and if its a problem then tell him he can pick one thing out for u. how bout that?
