Shopping alone is bad?

im a freshman in college and i shop alone. for me, i like doing this because i can do whatever i want on my own time. i find it relaxing and i can really focus on myself during this time. however, my friends think its shocking that i shop alone and very strange. recently, i shopped with a friend. we went to several stores, i was ready to be out in 10 minutes but we ended up spending over an hour in each store because of her. when i bumped into a guy friend in the mall who i had not seen for several months he asked me "where are your friends?" . i dont understand why it is so hard for people to accept the fact that i dont need people with me to go shopping. what do you guys think if u see a college chick shopping alone in a mall (clothes/ grocery shopping)?

Shopping alone is bad?
Shopping alone is very normal. I love shopping alone. I even eat alone, travel alone, and karaoke alone!!! BTW, I'm a female and single (for a year now) and loving it. It's just great to be able to do things at your own pace. You don't have to worry about others much. Don't you think It's pretty annoying do things with others esp. when you need to sound others' opinion before doing things and not all the time that what others want to do is what you want to do. I'm not an anti-friends or anything. But I think sometimes one just need space and time to be on one's own. And trust me, enjoy being alone while you can because when you have family (or BF)...you'll miss being alone.

Reply:i like shopping by myself too.. it is much more fun, but shop with ur friends once in a while so u wont leave them out
Reply:I like to shop alone, too! I know some people do find that strange, but I do prefer it. You can focus on yourself, not in a selfish way, but about everything else going on in your life. Not weird at all. BUT, I don't go to the movies or out to eat alone..like at a sit down restaurant.
Reply:What do I think when I see someone shopping alone, I think they're smart. You can get your shopping done in half the time without someone else with you.


I have four children and shopping with them is always fun, but I can get it done much faster with out them.
Reply:shopping alone is good...your free to shop whatever things you would want to buy..but there is a negative thing about it...there are many criminals nowadays surrounding us...so simetimes, you'd better have a companion.....
Reply:i agree with you. i go shopping by myself. im the same way, i go and get what i want and leave...if you go with others, they either dont like anything and want to leave before you get the chance to even look, or they want to try on everything...and youre there allllll day. i personally dont think it is weird, i guess people are just not used to seeing girls shop alone...simply because most girls cant do anything alone...shop, go to the bathroom..etc.
