Is shopping a necessity???

i dont see the logic in girls shopping once in a while even if sometimes they need to save. my dad said that i should just accpt it bcos, girls cant live without spending money on clothes, shoes,etc. is shopping really a need for girls to do once a week or twice? even if they really dont need to shop cos they have a lot of "stocks" in their closet ??


would a girl be stupid or "nerdy" if she doesnt shop once a month??

It's not true that all girls like shopping... a lot of us do, but I hate it -even clothes shopping, I'll put it off as long as I can, then run to the store at a quiet time and buy what I really need. And I'm not the only one, often women don't like to say it because they don't want to be seen as odd or weird, but I'm not easily embarrassed by such things and I have mentioned I disliked it when shopping came up in conversation... over the years, I've heard from quite a few women (still a minority, but far more than I had first expected) things like 'so I'm not the only one who feels that way!' or 'whew, finally someone who understands!'.





I sort of like to shop at book stores, fair trade centers (ethnic products, gifts), art/craft shops, %26amp; sometimes at the charity store, but I only go to those a few times a year too, and when I actually need something... that's enough for me!

i havn't been shopping since jan/feb because it was my birthday. (:


my friend goes shopping like EVERY weekend, and i think its because she is boring.


she dosnt do ANY clubs or hobbies or play an instrument or anything and so she goes out spending money so she has something to do at the weekend?!


not everybody shops all weekend. i dont %26amp; i'm not a nerd!!

Reply:I think it's like therapy.. I don't really go shopping often when I'm at college because I don't have the means. But when I'm home, I like to go shopping often. It's like therapy.. It makes you feel better to buy something, especially if you get a good deal. It also makes you feel better about your wardrobe. I hate when everyone knows all of the clothes that I have and I've got nothing new. When I have a couple new items, it energizes my wardrobe or shoe collection or accessories.. It's like having a collection. And you can't just buy cheap things, or it's not a very good collection. It's best to have your favorite brands and lots of different styles to fit your mood.

Reply:a girl can shop as little more as much as she pleases. I don't think she should not pay her bills just so she can buy new shoes... but except for that kind of extreme I don't see anything wrong with it. Some girls shop more than others.. personally I go through phases.

Shopping makes a lot of girls happy and maybe we're just a bit materialistic.


Because I like having a lot of clothes and shoes and the ones that I do like cost a lot.


I also get bored with my clothes pretty frequently so I have to go buy something new to shake up my wardrobe.


Also, fashion changes pretty frequently so some girls feel like they have to shop constantly to keep up with the latest trend.
Reply:I don't think they would be nerdy because some people can't afford to do that. I can admit I go shopping every friday with my friends but I think that's okay. It's just my opinion.

i think this explains why you need someone to explain to you. please use some logic before you ask something like this.
Reply:well since i shop like once or twice a week like almost RELIGIOUSLY i would say that it is a necessity and i mean i am also doing a VERY good thing by shopping, if i shop i get new clothes and that means i can donate my old ones to GOOD WILL!
