Shopping....?

As most of you know from one of my previous questions, my best friend is pregnant, and I am very happy for her. My problems in that I am in the Navy and I am leaving in about a month, as well as my brother who is also her friend. We are going to miss most of her pregnancy but really want to get stuff for her. Our question is that if we buy her some stuff now like diapers and wipes, and baby wash and lotion and stuff like that will it still be good and ok to use when the baby comes. FYI: She is about 9 weeks now.

Shopping....?
Yes it will stay good. and awwww you guys are so sweet.

If you are really worried about what to buy her or how much or what to buy best thing is to get her a gift card and tell her after she has the baby shower use the gift card and buy what she still needs. This way she will have the money to go get the stuff she really still needs. After she buys it have her send you pictures of what she bought with the gift card that way you will know what you really bought for the baby.

I know i have did this several times and the mommy to be was so happy. You never know what you are going to get at a baby shower so this is a safe way of mommy getting that special things she really wanted.
Reply:It's totally fine, but does she have room to store it now? What about a gift card to Babies R Us? You can always order things on line and have them shipped.

I'm ten weeks and know that I wouldnt' want to be tripping over that extra stuff for 7-8 months. That's just me.
Reply:The stuff will keep, but she might rather pick out what she wants for herself. Are you shopping from her registry? You may want to consider just buying her a big fat gift card to Babies R Us! New mommies love to go shopping and pick stuff out for their babies, i'm sure she'd love that.
Reply:Onsies and sleepers, blanket sleeper or two. Recieving blankets will be useful. You could get her some diapers and wipes and stuff. If you want to give her alot of diapers try a gift card for target or walmart. You can get more diaper for the buck if you use the store brand. They work well and hold as much as name brand but are more economical.

Good luck on your mission.
Reply:Yup, that kind of stuff doesnt expire.
Reply:Stick with onesies or other non-perishable items. Diapers take LOTS of space to store, and they do have expiration dates. The same is true of wipes.

Lotion and baby wash don't expire, but you really don't use much. I still have tons from my son's birth three years ago.

Onesies, burp cloths, etc. are gender neutral *and* new moms need TONS of them.
Reply:yup.....my cousin had her baby shower 3 months before the baby came, and she just, last week had to buy her first pack of diapers. and the baby is 1 year old :-) that stuff i think dont have an experation date for like 5 years
Reply:Yeah it will be fine she will be able to use it when the baby comes!
