I am doing a project on shopping festivals in Dubai and I like to know what real people think about our shopping malls and shopping festival?, what else can be done to make them better?'what are the disadvantages an advantages of our big shopping malls and festivals? and also what are your favourite brands and favourite shopping malls?

I Feel That Dubai Now Has A Sufficent No:of Shooping Malls, But Majority Of Them Cater To The Deep Pockets Of The Nationals And A Handful Of Indiviuals. During The Festival Season No:Of Shopping Malls Come Up With Exciting Offers, Schemes %26amp; Their World Famous Discounts, Some Of Them Are Genuine, Some Are Just Publicity Stunts, I Have Seen A No:of Brands with good Offers Like JVC, Splash, Shoe Mart, among others...
The Best Place To Shop Would Be The Mall Of The Emirates, I Feel It Has Everything Under One Huge Roof..

My favourite mall is is Mall of Emirates. City Centre is good as well.
During shopping festival I always go to Global Village as you can buy much staff with good price.
My favourite brands are- Zara, Cotton Life, Guess, Tommy Lee, Promode

Great malls, lovely festival, they really work hard to make it work, I love Ibn Batuta mall, it is my favorite.
Reply:im from UAE local, a citizen , and what you mentioned brings more and more people to UAE , emigrants and visitors, god knows till when this crowd will remain , especially in dubai , they are facing a real problem .
but my guess for the future i think it will be better after the completion of the (metro) Subways , underground train, i believe that Dubai will enter a golden era by then ... whom knows??!!!

Shopping in Edinburgh?
Hi I am off to Edinburgh on a shopping trip, can anyone reccomend to me areas or shops that are either small individual shops or boutique or vintage or 2nd hand ect. I am really not after the usual ie topshop, republic ect.

I went to Scotland over the summer and I totally recommend Princess Street!
Princes Mall was amazing. =)
I didn't really get a chance to go to many of the individual shops or things like that, but the mall was good. I walked around a bit and saw a few boutiques, including a few shops in a secluded area or two... I don't remember the names, but here is a link that might help you!

And check out this website before you go as it gives you the location of the store, its www.joey-d.co.uk!This guy is amazing he basically takes clothes apart and puts them back together, some of his designs are just amazing ive bought a few outfits from him!You wont find anything like his anywhere!
Also try the royal mile, although there are a lot of the usual stores along there its the side streets you want to look at!There is a store called scoots which is owned by 2 fashion students and there is also a really tatty looking shop that actually sells Louis Vuitton, Dior, Vivienne Westwood for really good prices!

Shopping to feel better??
I am just wondering how many people shop trying to make themselves feel better? I have Crohns, gerd, cts, arthritis, tendonitis, gastritis and i think that is it..lol and I find the worse i feel the more i want to shop and the bad thing is i know it will not make me feel better. When i was younger i would go out and have drink and smoke a cig to feel better but with crohns i cant drink and i quit smoking so shopping is all i have left. that and eating and that hurts most of the time. Just wondering how many are in the same boat as me..

You feel excitement, it feels so good inside and it becomes a central dominating force where you continually look to shopping to guide your actions and guide your day-to-day world to the exclusion of other more healthy adaptive ways of coping with uncomfortable feelings or difficult life circumstances.

I love accessories so that's what I look for when I'm in a slump. Another remedy is shopping on e-Bay. Works for me! Please take care of yourself!

My sister is like you are. Not the health problems (which I feel bad for you) but the shopping!
She would have brand new things in her closet that still had the tags on.
At one time she was traveling all over America,Mexico and would spend, spend,spend.
She drinks a lot anymore and who knows what else. She has distanced herself from the family and I can no longer drive so I can not show up at her house like I used too.
Compulsiveness can be a problem when one over spends.,drinks to much alcohol or does anything else that is compulsive. But everyone has something!
Some people eat, some people criticizes others to much. While others get into religion, work, gamble or whatever.
I feel the only time such a thing gets dangerous is when it hurts. Such as not having money to pay the house payment.
There are many in the same boat. Though instead of being in yahoo answers they are at the mall :0)
I sure wish you well with your health!!
Reply:I have shopped to make me feel better. I think it's the idea of buying something new. After a while, when it's not new anymore, I'm back in the same boat.
With the stuff I have, my doctor said exercise is the best thing. I do yoga and it helps to stretch out my muscles. I also exercise on my treadmill and now I have a Schwinn airdyne bike that right now I am only doing a couple minutes at a time on. I didn't exercise for 2 weeks during the holidays, and boy did I feel it. When you are hurting, exercise is the best thing, even though you may not think so. I also have a mini massager that's like a Tens unit. Last night my upper back was hurting a lot, and I used it for a while watching tv. That helps too. I have one from when I was doing therapy, but the mini massager I like much better.

Shopping in Waikiki?
Where can you shop in Waikiki, Hawaii? Are there some decent shopping centres with brands such as Abercombie and Fitch or department stores like Macy's and Bloomingdales? Or is there an outlet shopping centre? Or is there a Forever 21 store there?

You can walk, take the trolley car buses, taxes or maybe a shuttle - just ask your hotel. My wife and I stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.... and walked a few times.

1. Ala Moana Centre is a MASSIVE shopping centre "Open Air" with all the BIG department stores and plenty of the ones you're looking for..... apparently it's "WORLD FAMOUS"..... here's a link

2. A little further down that same Ala Moana Blvd.... past the MASSIVE Ala Moana Centre... you have Norstrom %26amp; the RACK.... if you like shoes... "designer shoes"..... you'll be in HEAVEN. It's called the Ward Shopping Centres
My wife bought 6 pairs and convinced me to buy two pairs as well... they have plenty of fashion as well... but it's all about the shoes! $150-300 shoes on SALE for $15-80 ------ JUST WARNING YOU - it's dangerous - you will spend more than you plan..... but it's worth it.
3. International Marketplace is worth the walk and is an experience in itself.... it's on the Waikiki strip and is all about gifts and jewelery and plenty of other stuff.
4. There is a COSTCO too.... if you need that sort of stuff. It's closer to downtown Honolulu/Waikiki.

Reply:If you want all those department staores you should shop at Ala Moana shopping center. It is right before you get to Waikiki on your left hand side. You can't miss it, it is huge. you want touristy stuff shop at Hilo Hatties that is also at Ala Moana, or in Waikiki at the international market place, right across from the Moana Hotel on Kalakaua ave.There is an outlet place over in Waikele that is on the west end of the island. They have trollies that can take you there is you do not want to drive, or take the bus.

i need help..
i am a 15 year old girl, and i rly need to go shopping!! my parents dont understand that the body of a girl my age changes.
when i ask my parents to go shopping, my dad says go with ur mom. and my mom never has time, coz she is rly busy.
i dont mind going shopping with my friend, but the prob is, i dont know how much money i will b needing and i cant ask for a very high amount!! in this country i live in every thing is expensive, and my dad thinks i spend a bit too much, coz my allawence is rly high and i have alot of demands!!! what should i do, how can i tell my dad i need clothes!!! i have been wearing the same thing over and over i cant stand wearing it again!!!

Tell you need new clothes and ask if there are some extra chores you could do around the house. And just keep saving. Or just drag them along. Or just keep begging. Try getting down on your knees and begging. And get spell check. It makes you what we call on neopets a n00B.

If you seriously need to buy clothes.
You can go somewhere cheaper. [Kohl's?]
You can buy t-shirts, and not get jeans.
(After all, they all do look the same!)

Reply:Tell them the truth about your body changing. Also tell them that it is extremely difficult to somehow "fit in" (just to decorate your pleas) among other students with the clothes you have now. They'll probably give you "you're wonderful the way you are, or don't be afraid to be different" but calmly tell them times have changed and it would make things so much easier. Don't get anything to racy or else they'll get pissed off. And if you want trendy but pretty clothes go to Forever 21. They have good clothes that aren't too expensive. Or Rave, but watch for quality here, their stuff breaks. Hope this helps!
Reply:Go through fashion magazines, look online and get a feel for what items you might need and the cost. Take that to your parents and suggest a dollar amount. You don't have to have the most expensive or everything. They will realize you are making an honest effort at attaining those articles of clothing you need. Reply:I suggest going to Abercrombie.You dont have to buy all the expensive stuff, there is a $10,$15 table. My mom wont let me buy expensive things, so I always head over there.But once and a while if I REALLY love something, then maybe just maybe my mom lets me get it......and Abercrombie is in style....lol :o)

i am a 15 year old girl, and i rly need to go shopping!! my parents dont understand that the body of a girl my age changes.
when i ask my parents to go shopping, my dad says go with ur mom. and my mom never has time, coz she is rly busy.
i dont mind going shopping with my friend, but the prob is, i dont know how much money i will b needing and i cant ask for a very high amount!! in this country i live in every thing is expensive, and my dad thinks i spend a bit too much, coz my allawence is rly high and i have alot of demands!!! what should i do, how can i tell my dad i need clothes!!! i have been wearing the same thing over and over i cant stand wearing it again!!!

Tell you need new clothes and ask if there are some extra chores you could do around the house. And just keep saving. Or just drag them along. Or just keep begging. Try getting down on your knees and begging. And get spell check. It makes you what we call on neopets a n00B.

You can do fun things to jeans, like bleach them.

You can draw on Converse, make them look good.
You can color converse.
You can buy white t-shirts, and you can dye it.
You can buy really [cheap] baggy pants, [cotton] and buy fabric paint, and design those.
If you seriously need to buy clothes.
You can go somewhere cheaper. [Kohl's?]
You can buy t-shirts, and not get jeans.
(After all, they all do look the same!)

Reply:Tell them the truth about your body changing. Also tell them that it is extremely difficult to somehow "fit in" (just to decorate your pleas) among other students with the clothes you have now. They'll probably give you "you're wonderful the way you are, or don't be afraid to be different" but calmly tell them times have changed and it would make things so much easier. Don't get anything to racy or else they'll get pissed off. And if you want trendy but pretty clothes go to Forever 21. They have good clothes that aren't too expensive. Or Rave, but watch for quality here, their stuff breaks. Hope this helps!
Reply:Go through fashion magazines, look online and get a feel for what items you might need and the cost. Take that to your parents and suggest a dollar amount. You don't have to have the most expensive or everything. They will realize you are making an honest effort at attaining those articles of clothing you need. Reply:The best thing would be to sit him down and explain the whole ordeal to him. Tell him the truth. Tell him exactly the reasons you need some new clothes. Tell him that your body is changing and you really dont know of any other way to say it but you need a few new things.

I'm wondering what shopping is available in sxm. Not looking for tourist shops (live in the vi, been there, done that). I've seen an antiques shop in simpons bay, anyhting else like that, or department stores, etc? Or fabric stores? Art supplies? All the websites I've seen are electronics and jewelry..
